Network Marketing Ethically and With Integrity

I am simply amazed that even today, in 2009, there is a huge public misperception out there about the Network Marketing industry. There are still a lot of people who believe that a Network Marketing or Direct Sales business is an illegal pyramid scam and the people involved are only after recruiting other people into their organization.

Isn’t it amazing that there are still people who think like that?

The Network Marketing business concept has been in existence for decades and it has been documented many times to be one of the most successful marketing model for a company to move their products and/or services to the marketplace. In addition, it is the industry that promotes free enterprise and that has created more millionaires than any other industries. Many world re-known leaders in the business community such as Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, Warren Buffet, etc… have extensively written about the network marketing industry, endorsed the marketing model and have even invested themselves in this vibrant and growing industry.

Nonetheless, the MLM or Network Marketing, whatever you prefer to call it, has gotten a bad rap over the years. Why? Well, because some unscrupulous companies and unethical distributors decided that they wanted to take this amazing business model, and try to game it in their favor.

But what about the millions of other network marketers who play by the rules, conduct their business ethically and with integrity who have succeeded profoundly, and use their knowledge and acquired skills to help other people achieve success… making a positive impact in someone’s life and making the world a better place in my opinion? Why do you so rarely hear about these people?

Well, we know what type of news travels fastest don’t we?

Operating a network marketing business can be very rewarding personally and financially when the new distributor is provided with the right mentoring that will provide the proper guidance and instill values, integrity and ethical practices right from the onset.

As an example, so many network marketers and direct sales people get a name, email, or phone number from somewhere (anywhere) and immediately call that prospect or send an email to sell that person something. Do you realize how MUCH you are LOSING – your credibility, losing sales, losing the opportunity to build a good and trusting relationship with your downline, losing money for the long term and lots more!!!! Not to mention adding to the misperception that already exists.

Here’s a fundamental foundation for building a successful, profitable Network Marketing/Direct Sales business.

First thing you must do to grow your business is to build a relationship with potential clients/customers. That is where the term Relationship Marketing comes from.

Second and simultaneously, provide something of good value and service to them, to build your credibility. Remember, it’s all about them and not about you! Let them learn and discover that you care about them, that they can trust you. Do you realize how much BAD karma and vibes you are creating with your “salesy email” or when you cold call someone and start pitching your business reading from a stupid script that was provided to you by your upline who most likely doesn’t have a clue how to build a success network marketing business?

Let me explain what these bad practices will do for you:

1.  You are making it very difficult for yourself to succeed….you’re going to have to work 10, 100x harder to have any success, because you tick off too many people.

2.  You are accelerating the bad name the network marketing/direct sales industry has, making it harder for everyone else to succeed too.

Instead, be an ambassador for the industry by giving service and value to other, being ethical, credible, and operate your business with integrity.

Ask yourself how many businesses do you continue to buy from when you get bad or even ‘half-hearted’ service, or you feel ‘taken or cheated’? Or when you get “pounced on” with spam emails about “I’ve got the best product” etc. You get the same feeling and you don’t or won’t buy just because of the tactics used on you. There are other negative results, too many to share here. But hope you get the point. Why?

  • I love the Network Marketing industry and want it to have a reputation of helping others, giving service, value, having integrity.
  • It is one of the best business concepts and doesn’t deserve the ‘bad wrap’ it got and continues to have with so many people abusing it.
  • And most of all, I want YOU to succeed.
  • Nobody wins with these bad tactics. It’s lose, lose, lose for everyone….short term and long term. If you are serious about your business and willing to operate it with honesty, integrity, credibility for the long run, contact me for a free 30-minute consultation.

Yours in Success!
